The MTMS Girls Basketball team would like to recognize eighth grader Riley Odom as their Athlete of the Week for week 4. Riley is so deserving of an “Athlete of the Week” title for many reasons. She has been a leader on the team since the beginning of the season. We did not declare a “captain” this year, but she does fill that role nicely at times. Riley is the team's point guard when she is out on the court and controls the tempo of the game no matter the situation. This past week, in a close game against RMT Lower, Riley kept her composure and led her team beautifully. Riley scored 4 points in the loss to Lower on Wednesday 2/2 and netted 9 points against Dennis Township on Thursday 2/3. Keep up the great work Rye!

The MTMS Girls Basketball team would like to recognize Julia Clarke as their Athlete of the Week for week 3. Julia is everything a coach wants in a player. She works hard every day at practice and in games. She does what is asked of her and pushes her teammates to get better. She stays positive and is a great role model to all players on the team, not just the younger group. Julia has been a key to the team's success so far this season, being one of the players off the bench. She gave key minutes to the week's victories over Hammonton, Pleasantville and Lower. Not only is Julia a great athlete, she is also a great student in the classroom and is well liked by her peers. Way to go Jule!
