The MTMS Girls Basketball team played the Wildwood Warriors this afternoon at their first home game of the season. Up 21-3 at the half Middle came out of half time determined to get their first win at home. The Panthers were led by seventh grader Samantha Kretschmer who tallied a season high 18 points. Anastasia Krafczek, Mylee Moore, and Hailey Estes connected with the rim for 2 points each. Bryn Brophy rounded out the score with a 3 pointer at the top of the key for her first 3 of the season! The entire roster entered the game today, giving all players the opportunity to play in the first home game! Middle won the contest 27-7. The Panthers will see Crest Memorial home on Monday 2/8 in their first meeting of the season. Go Panthers! 🐾

The MTMS Girls Basketball Team traveled to Ocean City this afternoon to face their second opponent of the season. A tough Raiders team dominated the Panthers giving Middle their first loss of the season. Middle was led by Anastasia Krafczek and Samantha Kretschmer, both with 4 points. Bryn Brophy connected with the rim one time and knocked down one for two from the foul line. 6th grader Ainsley Fredrick finished out the score making one foul shot in the game. All 12 players entered the game for Middle with crucial minutes from newcomer Ella Leahy. The game ended with a 42-12 loss for the Panthers. Middle will face Wildwood tomorrow home at 3:45pm. The game will be live streamed on the MTMS Facebook page! Go Middle!

Tied at halftime, the panthers came out fired up in the third quarter, scoring 14 points in 6 minutes. The team was led by Anastasia Krafczeck and Samantha Kretschmer, each with 8 points respectively. Anna Delaney and Miley Moore both connected with the rim for 6 points each. Outstanding defense from Riley Odom and Bryn Brophy led the guards to 2 points each to round out the score. Middle won the game 32-22.

IMPORTANT PAPERWORKBecause the season is coming up extremely quick, the need to get paperwork completed before the first tryout/practice on January 19th is important! FINALLY A WINTER SPORTS UPDATE!The Middle Township Middle School Facebook sent out an update last night about Winter Sports for the 2021 season! The update stated: "Cape May County middle schools are strongly considering the possibility of shortened basketball season for both boys and girls. All students who have up-to-date physicals on file will be allowed to try out. Tryout information will be forthcoming pending a final decision. In the mean time, students who plan to try out should make arrangements with their family doctor to complete all necessary paperwork. All paperwork must be completed/uploaded using the Healthy Roster App. The link below will answer all questions regarding the app." Be sure to use the link in the button above to help with any questions regarding the app for Healthy Roster! Only students who have up-to-date paperwork will be able to try out this year! We want everyone to have a chance to play, so please make sure if you/ your child wants to play, the paperwork is completed!
